Description

The Lead Process Engineer - Alliance Refinery reports to the Process Design Superintendent. Responsible for process engineering, project development, and project front-end-loading for Alliance Refinery capital projects. Accountable for assuring projects achieve objectives and are technically sound

Responsibilities may include :

  • Utilizing front end loading work processes and accepted best practices to assure timely and cost effective project development
  • Reviewing projects with internal, external and industry discipline experts to ensure projects are technically sound and cost effective
  • Reviewing projects with appropriate plant personnel to ensure all health, safety and environmental compliance requirements are met
  • Actively promoting the latest technologies and problem-solving solutions. Sharing and leveraging technical expertise across other sites and other forums
  • Establishing and validating project priorities, deliverables and deadlines with supervision. Managing competing priorities and multiple projects. Accountable for managing time to deliver on commitments
  • Providing leadership in development of project scope, benchmarking, and control of project design to the approved scope
  • Providing process interface with Prepare To Operate and Operations in project scope development and execution
  • Providing process engineering support during mechanical design to ensure original process intent is met

Qualifications

Basic/Required :

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Bachelor's Degree inChemical Engineering
  • 5 or more years of experience working for refinery owner
  • 3 or more years of experience working Area Process Engineering support

  • Must possess strong refinery process engineering fundamentals
  • Ability to establish work priorities based on greatest business needs

  • Experience with process simulation programs
  • Computer proficient including applications for word processing, spreadsheets and process database systems (PI)

  • Area process engineering lead ready (after learning facility facility)
  • Candidates for this position should have characteristics or experience and potential & interest in a future leadership role in operations engineering that could lead to that role or other future refinery leadership roles

The Alliance Refinery is located 20 miles south of New Orleans on Highway 23. The refinery was built in 1971 and is one of the last world-scale grassroots refineries built in the United States. The facility is specifically designed and constructed for highly efficient operations that refine crude oil into gasoline, diesel and jet fuel.
