The Operations Turnaround Specialist - Intermittent position is responsible for turnaround preparation, turnaround execution and the operation of a designated unit in the Phillips 66 Borger Refinery. The position reports directly to the respective Area Manager for which he/she is assigned and will be needed through approximately May 2018
This is an intermittent position. No relocation available.
Responsibilities may include :
- Turnaround preparation
- Turnaround execution
- Operating a process unit
- Following all safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Maintaining and operating equipment
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Maintain a valid driver's license
- Previous operations experience at a refinery
- Willingness to perform/comply with the following:
To work 12-hour rotating shifts, which include some weekends and holidays
To work overtime
To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
To work near large, hot, high-speed machines
To climb up to 250 feet in height
To lift a minimum of 50 pounds
To work around chemicals, including acids and bases
To wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
To maintain your face daily so that a respirator/face mask can seal properly (some examples include being free of facial hair and/or clean shaven)
To perform firefighting duties
To work outside in harsh weather conditions
To work with petroleum products that are under high pressure and heat
- 5 or more years of operating experience at a refinery
- Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to interact and work in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to resolve issues in a team environment
- Accepts ownership, is accountable, and delivers on commitments
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams

The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle approximately 50 miles northeast of Amarillo. The refinery processes 148 mbpd of light and medium gravity sour crudes plus fractionates 30 mbpd of mixed natural gas liquids. The Borger Refinery produces LPG and motor fuels products for the Rocky Mountains, West Texas and Central U.S. market areas. Additionally, the Borger Refinery produces pentane and heptane solvents for specialty products applications.
