The Cloud Operations Developer role on the Operational Technologies team will helps lead Phillips 66 technical and strategic direction for modernization and optimization of critical operational system supporting Refining and Midstream with a specialization in cloud native technologies with ongoing programs and the drive to mature the Phillips66 digital footprint, there are abundant opportunities to lead changes.
This role will help research, define, implement tools, strategies, and innovations in support of the digital transformation and long-term operational efficiencies. The primarily focus will be modernizing Business and Operational system and be able to leverage data to for operations insights to improve efficiency and identify optimization across major cloud providers. This role will also help design, develop, and support deployment pipelines, monitoring systems, write documentation, work closely with software developers, and proactively improve the efficiency and efficacy of the software.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and sound analytical thinking are essential for success in this position. A strong sense of ownership and a drive to improve existing systems and processes is also needed.

Responsibilities May Include
Lead the adoption of new cloud-based technologies in operations environment to promote efficiency and accelerate value delivery.
Work with operations teams to identify and evaluate multiple technologies and systems to provide an efficient, working, and verified context for the digital transformation, including cloud architecture, application design, security footprint and define IT standards.
Demonstrated experience with deployment and management using DevOps orchestration. Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, AWS EKS, Azure AKS, Rancher, Docker, etc., preferred.
Continually improve the operations KPIs by consulting with project team, promoting innovative approaches, and sharing knowledge.
Drive toward a proactive mindset when it comes to operational technologies and work toward automation for critical system monitoring.
Provide technical thought leadership when it comes to operational data management and be able to prototype new solutions.
Identifies automation opportunities where possible to minimize all human interventions, increase transaction speeds, and the flow of information.
Assure solutions are designed to meet or exceed security and audit requirements and conducting design Audits.
Knowledge of distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Experience in building and designing systems on cloud platform - Azure or AWS
Hands on experience in technology stacks: Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Packer, Container provisioning and management, Azure DevOps etc.
Ability to travel up to 15%
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major
Certification on AWS or Azure Platforms
2 or more years of experience with common container orchestration technologies – Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, Docker, GKS, AWS EKS, Azure AKS, etc.
2 or more years of experience in installing, configuring, performance tuning, security patching, monitoring setup, troubleshooting, recoverability of cloud services, modern technologies, and systems such as Kubernetes, Containers, Redis, and application runtimes
Experience engineering technologies to be delivered as a service and an understanding of concepts of multi-tenancy
Familiarity with version control workflows utilizing git (branching, pull requests, etc.) and automated release pipelines
3 or more years of experience in relevant Oil & Gas or technical industry experience, especially downstream
