The Investment Recovery Specialist coordinates with internal company clients to sell or otherwise dispose of scrap and surplus materials. The Investment Recovery Specialist will request and compare quotes from potential buyers, assemble sales agreements with the successful buyer(s), and will track all sales for reporting purposes. Additionally, the role is responsible for providing support to the BU/sites in managing and optimizing inventory assets to attain best in class materials management.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Provides investment recovery, analysis to the BU/sites regarding scrap or surplus material.

  • Establishes measures for key performance metrics to ensure that success can be measured and appropriate courses of action/changes are made to achieve best in class performance.

  • Provides backup/support of Materials Management job responsibilities.

  • Coordinates Management of Change activities for Materials Management initiatives.

  • Supports and contributes to the Procurement agenda by applying advanced investment recovery analysis and techniques.

  • Routinely communicates openly and with integrity with business stakeholders to align direction between Procurement and the BU/site strategy.

  • Networks and develops working relationships with a variety of stakeholders across Procurement teams and business groups.

  • Ensures Investment Recovery success through active leadership, participation and contribution.

  • Maintains and strengthens effective relationships and communication avenues with the BU/sites.

  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable investment recovery opportunities to optimize value recovered to BU/sites.

  • Actively influences key business stakeholders regarding results of investment recovery.

  • Complies with relevant standards and policies and minimizes risk and cost exposure.

  • Performs investment recovery analysis to identify opportunities such as material sales, surplus usage, scrapping opportunities…etc.

  • Interacts with internal customers regarding development of strategies.

  • Interacts with external scrap/surplus partner regarding development of strategies.

  • Identifies potential buyers, solicits, and compares quotes, selects the buyers, and documents the private sales utilizing standard Sales Agreements.

  • Partners with external partner to market the sale of P66 assets when private buyers cannot be identified.

  • Recommend opportunities due to obsolescence or surplus, utilizing investment recovery options

  • Prepares Investment Recovery reports monthly or on request, using various databases, systems, and reporting tools

  • Creatively prepares charts and analyses supporting Investment Recovery performance metrics.

  • Assists in annual inventory reduction goals and driving BU toward goal achievement.

  • Leads decision making processes for Investment Recovery.

  • Leads monthly development and review of investment recovery metrics to monitor performance of the Materials Management function.

  • Leads global SAP enhancement requests for the Investment Recovery function.

  • Visits BU/sites as required to ensure high support service levels and to identify improvement opportunities and/or best practices.

  • Assists BU/sites in capturing and reporting savings/value contributions.

  • Provides continuous education, communication and support to the BU/sites in accomplishing best in class knowledge sharing and development opportunities.

  • Drives for continuous improvement in the IR process to maximize efficiency and revenue, while maintaining high levels of customer engagement and satisfaction.

  • Coordinates Investment Recovery Program and effectively manages corporate IR service companies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment recovery and materials management.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Strong understanding of investment recovery concepts and methods.

  • Analytical approach to problem solving with an ability to resolve tough problems that arise on a daily basis.

  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present ideas in an organized manner.

  • Proven track record of achieving objectives through effective collaboration and alignment. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to "influence without authority" across multiple disciplines.

  • Proven self-motivator who sets clear direction and priorities.

  • Ability to foster effective teamwork and collaboration.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple activities and changing priorities and arrive at planned outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 years of experience with SAP MM module.

  • 3 years of inventory management experience in the oil & gas industry.

  • Proficient computer skills with experience in formulating reports and extracting data from various computer programs including SAP, IBM MRO, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Working knowledge of SAP MM and investment recovery tools and systems (i.e., IBM MRO, Asset Zones).
