Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Analyst is primarily responsible for providing support to our Finance and Accounting team during the SAP system implementation (project) period. The successful candidate could provide backup for permanent employees who are pulled into project related activities, work on certain aspects of the project directly or a combination of the two.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Assist with various accounting activities

  • Perform accounting and financial analysis

  • Administrative tasks

  • Participate in business improvement projects as a needed

  • Provide insightful and timely responses to adhoc queries

Required Qualifications

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree or college diploma in a relevant field of study, preferably in accounting or finance

  • CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) designation an asset

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of Oil and Gas experience (preferably in crude oil Commercial Finance/Accounting)

  • Strong MS Excel skills

  • Accounting and Finance (preferably in crude oil Commercial Finance/Accounting)

  • Knowledge of crude oil markets and crude pricing

  • Experience with SAP and OMS (asset)

  • Exceptional problem solving and proven analytical skills as well as attention to detail

  • Be a critical thinker with an ability to provide creative solutions to complex issues

  • Self-motivated, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Team player

  • Possess an orientation to service and meeting customer’s needs
