We are seeking an Analyst, Settlements Accounting in our Calgary office. This position reports to the Team Lead, Crude Oil Settlements within the Commercial Finance Organization and will perform a variety of functions in support of Crude Supply & Trading.
Responsibilities may include
Work closely with the traders, schedulers and analysts to ensure correct settlements
Perform monthly pipeline balancing and reconciliations
Prepare invoices and customer purchase statements for settlement
Inter-company transactions and settlements
SAP journal entries, accruals, payables/receivables, and physical inventory tie-ins
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Provide accounting support and analysis for Closing/ F&PA and other month end activities
Prepare regulatory reporting
Special projects related to Crude Supply and Trading
Required Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Qualifications
Accounting designation an asset
Strong accounting and finance knowledge
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel with a working knowledge of SAP preferred
High level of initiative, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multi-task essential
Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision in an open trade floor environment
Excellent communication skills required
Continuous improvement mindset
Additional hours may be required during financial close and settlement.
