We are looking for a Principal Engineer to be a technology resource and drive consistent asset improvement through the application of Technology in the ICC (Integrated Collaboration Center). In this position the engineer will work with other Process Experts/Engineers in the ICC to assist the field Asset Engineers and Plant/ Field Supervisors. As part of the Engineering Technical Services team, you will be a member of a great team with technical expertise and operational knowledge. You will have demonstrated technical expertise, problem solving, design capabilities, effective communications, act as an influencer of Engineers and Operations personnel that are not directly supervised and resolve issues quickly. This position will provide plant and system optimization assistance while helping to develop successful field personnel who will then be drivers of Midstream’s success. A successful engineer will have a strong technical background, solid communication skills and experience in plant and field operations. The candidate that fill this role will have an immediate positive impact on our Technical Services Engineering team, our customers, and our company.
Responsibilities May Include
Monitoring plant and system performance, collaborating with the ICC Coordinators/Board operators and recommending changes to optimize and drive economic performance of the assets
Fostering and maintaining positive relationships between Asset Engineering, Operations, and the ICC Team
Updating and Troubleshooting simulations, resolving issues between actual operating data and simulated values
Identifying improvements and optimization opportunities in the plants and be able to prepare initial scopes of work and economic justifications
Developing knowledge and understanding of the gas plants and the interactions with compressor stations and pipeline systems
Required Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
15 or more years of relevant industry experience with an emphasis on gas treating/processing, gathering/compression, and process design
Comprehensive understanding and application of fundamental engineering principles and operational practices
Proven influencing qualities and the ability to work cross-functionally and mentor less experienced engineers
Process simulation expertise
Effective written and verbal communication skills
10-15% travel to field locations
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
20 years of relevant industry experience with an emphasis on gas treating/processing, gathering/compression, and process design
Recognized in the industry as an expert in Gas Processing
VMG (Symmetry) and VMG Dynamics expertise
Experience working in operations at a facility
Support of or involvement in industry organization that promotes standardization or knowledge sharing
Midstream
Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $160k – $185k depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
