As part of the Midstream Terminal Commercial & Business Development function, the Director, Terminals Business Development (BD) is responsible for developing business around existing and potential Gulf Coast Region Terminals. This position will facilitate the development and implementation of key Midstream Commercial and Business Development initiatives by engaging 3rd parties to identify and execute business opportunities.
Responsibilities May Include
Understanding the Midstream business strategy and market drivers and managing the retention of existing business and development of new business.
Developing relationships with existing and potential customers and creating business proposals that utilize Midstream assets in order to meet the customer’s needs.
Coordinating internal and external resources to establish justification and identify risks for new projects and optimization initiatives; a key component is developing economic models, project scope and project costs.
Being Phillip 66’s face to the customer in communicating project status or resolving customer issues.
Negotiating contracts with customers and integrating multiple functions, including Finance, Legal, Projects & Procurement, Commercial, Refining, Investment Appraisal, Tax, Marine, Loss Control and other business units to develop commercial contracts and/or projects.
Identifying acquisition opportunities and creating the business rationale and fit for Phillips 66 Midstream
Supporting the preparation of early FEL work and white-paper documents to effectively progress the project approval from concept to initial eAFE funding.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related field
3 or more years of industry experience including commercial, business development, operations and/or logistics in Downstream and/or Midstream
5 or more years of industry experience including commercial, business development, operations and/or logistics in Downstream and/or Midstream
Experience in Crude Logistics with an understanding of market fundamentals
Experience in development of project economic evaluations and the FEL process
Influencing skills, including the ability to work across departmental and functional boundaries in a matrix organization
Strong facilitation skills - ability to manage upwards and help secure understanding, ownership and commitment to activity timings, within key discipline leads
Multi-tasking - ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and/or adjust to priority adjustments
Self-starter capable of working with limited supervision
Strong organizational skills
