The Utility Worker is responsible for providing maintenance support for the Houston Headquarters office.
Responsibilities May Include
Knowing and following all Company policies and safe work practices.
Small carpentry work as well as hang pictures, patch sheetrock and repair doors.
Floor repairs as well as installing or replacing carpet squares and replacing raised floor tiles.
Completing preventive maintenance work orders under the direction of the craft supervisor.
Power washing around plaza, guard houses and stone fencing.
Fence maintenance, pedestrian gates and rolling gates.
Patio Furniture will be kept clean, in place, and operational. Keep rope, etc. ready to tie down in a storm or move inside building.
Assisting with operational maintenance, work orders and shop work.
Assisting with relocating attic stock as needed between floor 14 and the HAC Warehouse.
Paint garage striping as needed.
Cleaning debris out of large water collection grates as needed.
Checking the irrigation pump daily to see that it is operational.
Cleaning the cooling towers internally, clean strainers and change filters on scrubbers.
Checking softeners on the 2nd and 3rd floors and add salt as needed.
Cleaning ice machines in cafeteria and coffee bars.
Performing plumbing work in coffee bars, restrooms, central utility plant, fountain rooms, sump pump rooms and mechanical rooms, etc.
Installing monitor arms, keyboards and wire management.
Moving furniture, boxes, etc.
Replacing light bulbs.
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must possess a valid in state driver’s license
Must be able to work outside in any weather as required
Must be able to work at various heights and climb ladders
Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
Basic knowledge with HVAC or mechanical, components and systems
Basic knowledge of electronic controls, instrumentation or building management systems
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness and ability (with or without a reasonable accommodation) to perform/comply with the following:
◦To walk, kneel and squat
◦To work standing for a two (2) hour period
◦To lift a stationary weight of 40-lbs. from a floor to bench level
◦Must be able to work in a self-directed team environment
Ability to work overtime as needed
Willing to cross train in other crafts, in the operations department, in order to contribute in areas of peak demand
1 or more years of experience in building maintenance
Computer proficient with Excel, Word and SAP
