Basic Function

Reporting to the London IT Manager, this position will be accountable for the support and development of our UK Marketing and Commercial applications. This position will receive functional guidance from our US Applications Support Team.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Deliver and support information technology solutions to deliver defined business-specific services.

  • Work with IT Business Partners, external vendors and other internal teams to ensure services meet customer needs.

  • Supporting interfaces with third parties.

  • Assist with Service Delivery issues and desk side support.

  • Trade Support activities for Front, Mid and Back-office functions, including assistance in using RightAngle, troubleshooting application issues and month end closing support.

  • Support of the Excel spreadsheets in use in the Front, Mid and Back-office functions.

  • Collaboration with colleagues in the Houston office as part of a Global Support Team.

  • Provide technical consultancy to the business channels.

  • Create and maintain systems and network documentation.

  • Opportunities to lead smaller IT projects.

Critical Skills/Leadership Criteria

  • Hold the legal right to live and work in the UK on a permanent basis without restrictions, or meet the relevant criteria for employer sponsorship under the UK points-based immigration system.

  • A relevant computer science/ IT related degree or relevant IT experience/background (prior roles in desktop support would be advantageous).

  • Technical experience/ knowledge of Windows 10, MS Office 2010 including MS Outlook 2010.

  • Experience/ knowledge of database theory – MS Access 2003/2010, SQL, query design and stored procedures.

  • Experience/knowledge of Active Directory.

  • Visual Basic and VBA for Access/Excel.

  • Experience with C#.net or VB.net.

  • Knowledge of trading systems or experience in a trading environment.

  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving ability – capable of researching unstructured business problems and defining solutions. Detailed focused.

  • Must be a self-starter, and willing to put in the extra effort to provide timely support for business-critical problems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective time management and work prioritisation skills.

  • Ability to adapt to new technologies.

  • Ability to analyse situations and options effectively, whilst focusing on commitments and delivering results.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SharePoint 2013

  • Knowledge of SalesForce.com

  • Knowledge of UNIX & server-side scripting

  • Knowledge of Citrix

  • Knowledge of FTP and Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and subsequent versions

  • SQL Scripting

Phillips 66 has significant marketing operations in Europe. In the UK the business is primarily wholesale, selling fuels to distributors (some of whom are branded JET) and resellers. The fuels are either collected by customers or delivered through a contracted road tanker fleet operating out of a number of UK distribution points. In addition, Phillips 66 Limited supplies a network of approximately 330 independently owned petrol forecourts, all of which are branded JET.

Other markets served are aviation, marine and LPG. JET supplies some of the UK's growing secondary airports using owned and shared refuelling tankers and storage, and delivers to airlines through contracted refuelling operations. Marine markets are served using contracted vehicles, as is the LPG business.
