Description

Assistant Mooring Master is responsible for assisting with the planning, control, direction and execution of the Terminal Operations for assigned vessels, whilst liaising with vessel’s onboard management to ensure cargo discharge is carried out in a safe and efficient manner to satisfy company’s requirements.

Responsibilities May Include

  • The mooring and unmooring of tankers

  • The supervision of the handling of cargo hoses

  • The safe discharge of crude oil whilst the vessel remains on the berth

  • The planning and supervision of the maintenance of the Offshore Terminal

  • Driving safety culture and ensure a safe place of work.

  • Assist with the development, implementation and enforcement of Company procedures and policy

  • Minimise environmental impact of operations.

  • Set and enforce high standards for housekeeping

  • Monitor contract labour operating or maintaining marine equipment

  • Assist with the maintenance of statutory and company records and legal documentation relating to cargo, berthing, discharge and un-berthing operations

  • Emergency response to pollution incidents

  • Ensure safe operation and maintenance of offshore equipment

  • Liaise with / monitor cargo inspectors

  • Assist with Quality Assurance of Offshore Operations.

  • Assist with maintenance planning for the area

  • Help Offshore to develop and share best practices (Operations, Safety & Environmental)

As required:

  • Ensure offshore operations satisfy statutory and Company requirements.

Position Requirements

Basic/Required:

  • Experience of tanker and/or Monobuoy Operations

  • Preferably a holder of Class 2 Certificate of Competency

  • Ability to communicate with ships’ Chief Officer and direct ship’s crew

  • Trained to deal with oil pollution at sea and offshore

  • Valid driving licence.

  • Ability to control and execute berthing operations under direct supervision

  • Able to work under pressure, for long periods, at all hours

  • Sit on Safety/Environmental teams as required.

  • Carry out objective auditing

The Humber Refinery is located on the east coast of England in North Lincolnshire, United Kingdom, approximately 180 miles north of London. Humber's facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, hydrodesulfurization, thermal cracking and delayed coking units. The refinery has two coking units with associated calcining plants, which produce high-value graphite and anode petroleum cokes. It processes crude oil supplied primarily from the North Sea and includes light, low- and medium-sulfur and acidic crude oil. Humber produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. It is the only coking refinery in the United Kingdom, and a major producer of specialty graphite cokes and anode coke. Approximately 70 percent of the light oils produced by the refinery are distributed to customers in the United Kingdom by pipeline, rail car and truck, while the other products are exported to the rest of Europe, West Africa and the United States.
