Description
The Projects Team Leader is accountable for overseeing project management activities, including FEED, detailed design, and construction support for the Ponca City Refinery Technical Services. The Projects Team Leader must be capable of supporting and overseeing projects engineers who manage the Ponca City capital portfolio in a safe and efficient manner.
Responsibilities may include
Supervising, mentoring, developing and coaching project engineers.
Providing single point of accountability for project management and project expertise.
Ensure the compliance of the Front-End Loading, Detail Design, and other demonstrated best practices in the execution of projects.
Interacting with Process and Instrument/Electrical Engineers to coordinate project activities and coordination of assigned resources for completion of projects to meet project timeframes.
Create and track annual capital and expense budgets.
Review and approve all project funding requests for development and execution.
Collaborating and nurturing relationships with peers and work groups. (Areas, Inspection, PSM, Turnarounds and Projects).
Required qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
Must have a current valid driver's license.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering field (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, etc)
5 or more years of experience managing capital or expense projects within the refining or petrochemical industry.
Preferred qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer applications.
Strong oral/written communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work across organization boundaries to leverage resources and resolve conflicts.
Understanding of the Front-End loading requirements.
Intimate knowledge of P&IDs, equipment design, HAZOP reviews, electrical/instrument designs, and engineering support for detailed cost estimates and schedules.
Previous supervision or mentoring experience.
Experience with Aspen cost estimating software.
Strong scheduling and organization skills, understanding basic strategies for managing successful projects.
Construction field engineering experience.
The Ponca City Refinery is located in Ponca City, Oklahoma, approximately 95 miles northwest of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. The refinery processes a mixture of light, medium and heavy crude oil delivered via pipeline from Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, the U.S. Rockies and Canada. Infrastructure improvements have enabled the delivery of locally produced crude oil by pipeline and truck. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels and anode-grade petroleum coke. Refined products are primarily distributed to customers by company-owned and common carrier pipelines to markets throughout the Midcontinent region.
