Lubricants

With world-class research and development facilities and eight proprietary blending and packaging facilities, Phillips 66 lubricants are sold in more than 80 countries. We reach across every key lubricants market, including automotive, trucking, agriculture, aviation, power generation, mining and construction. We manufacture and sell automotive, commercial, industrial and specialty lubricants, which are marketed worldwide under the Phillips 66, Kendall and Red Line brands, as well as other private label brands. We also market Group II Pure Performance base oils globally, and import and market Group III Ultra-S base oils through an agreement with South Korea’s S-Oil corporation.
The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for directing the operations associated with bulk receiving/shipping, packaging shipping/receiving, packaging production, laboratory, maintenance, capitol project implementation and warehousing to ensure safe, environmentally sound, and profitable operations. They must maintain alignment with our vision and values of Safety, Honor and Commitment through optimal utilization, strong reliability and cost control, consistent product quality, excellent customer service and employee involvement and development.
Responsibilities
This position is an exempt position and is responsible for:
Be a role model in displaying and insisting on world-class safety both on and off the job.
Drive personal safety ownership in each employee; use personal engagement to teach/train/explain expectations.
Ensure compliance with P66/Lubricant’s policies and procedures as well as ISO/QS standards, and with all local, state, and federal regulations and requirements.
Assist in development and delivery of site Business Plan and performance goals.
Ensure efficient plant operations in alignment with operating plans, budgets, and product quality standards.
Implement projects and process improvements consistent with Lubricant’s business strategy.
Lead step-change improvement in mechanical integrity, identifying the top areas of risk and developing robust and relatively quick gap closure plans.
Manage training and development of plant personnel to ensure the right talent is in the right role.
Develop and motivate employees to ensure high standards of productivity, quality, safety, and environmental stewardship.
Coordinate plant operations with other Lubricants and Phillips 66 departments, including shipping, distribution, customer service, sales, etc.
Seek opportunities to maximize plant throughput and optimize operations through reduced costs and increased efficiencies.
Prioritize and seek approval for capital projects. Provide support for capital project implementation.
Manage efficiently within approved O&O budget and develop 12+0 budget and operations update for LRP.
Oversee day-to-day operation and maintenance activities, including employee supervision, scheduling, equipment reliability, and equipment repairs/upgrades.
Administer personnel policies and practices: resolve personnel issues, provide coaching, performance appraisals, administer disciplinary actions and lead the selection of new employees for reporting positions.
Fulfill various administrative functions such as invoice processing, SAP master data management, specification distribution, and IMPACT data management, workforce software timesheets.
Address all HSEQ and MOC operational and maintenance items entered in IMPACT.
Ensure safe operating conditions, good housekeeping practices and HSEQ continuous improvement efforts within the plant.
Manage the validation of all operations, maintenance, and laboratory procedures.

Provide overall site leadership in the absence of the Plant Manager
Basic/Required Qualifications
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular, full-time basis without restrictions.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Five years direct experience in a manufacturing plant or blending environment.
Experience with supervising a work force.
Proficient computer skills in Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
Well Developed written and verbal communication skill
Ability to travel occasionally to all Lubes plants and the Houston office
Ability to build teams and networks
Organizational Leadership
Working knowledge of SAP
Accepts ownership and is accountable for delivering on commitments
Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. Note: information regarding TWIC qualification standards may be found at http://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Technical/Engineering
Proficient in the MM and PM module of SAP.
8 or more years of experience within operating facilities, with a working knowledge of maintenance processes and systems
Industry/Business Expertise.
Working knowledge of FMEA, RCA, MOC and other quality/process safety tools.
Knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA and R&R.
Experience with ISO or TS requirements
Experience in supply chain, distribution, and operations
Experience with ISO or TS requirements
