The Terminal Operator will perform duties in support of the safe operation of a large products marine terminal, which includes truck and railcar biodiesel, additive, and ethanol off loading, tank farm operations, pipeline receipts, truck rack lifting’s, boiler operation, response boat operation, barge and vessel activity. Monitor VRU (Vapor Recovery Unit) emissions for compliance with stringent emission regulations. Conduct transport driver training classes, load rack equipment training, carrier audits and agency tours. 42-hour work weeks with potential over-time and rotating day/night shifts.
Responsibilities May Include
Operating and maintaining equipment.
Responding to emergencies.
Ensuring the quality and quantity of refined products.
Following all policies, procedures, and other requirements, both internal and external (for example, DOT).
Keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures, and other requirements.
Completing administrative tasks including paperwork and electronic reporting and filing.
Staying current on required training.
Participating in emergency response exercises.
Identifying and resolving pipeline scheduling conflicts.
Monitoring controls and establishing safe valve line-ups for pipeline deliveries and receipts.
Maintaining effective and professional relationships with customers and responding promptly to their needs.
Performing environmental and regulatory checks.
Performing security and equipment facility rounds.
Assisting others with their training when needed.
Completing periodic inventory reconciliations (for example, loss/gain reports).
Performing permitting activities, such as Lock, Tag, & Try; Hot Work; Excavation; and Confined Space Entry.
Filling in as temporary Terminal Supervisor on occasion, once trained.
Condition of employment includes successful completion of entry-level testing.

High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must maintain valid driver’s license
18 years of age or older
Willing and able to perform/comply, with or without a reasonable accommodation, with the following:

To walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material on a daily basis on even and uneven terrain

Basic level of proficiency with Microsoft Office

Conditions of employment may include successful completion of an entry-level test
Associate's degree or higher
Experience in the oil and gas industry with emphasis in marine terminals
Experience in clean product terminals
Experience with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
Experience with OMNI flow computers
Working knowledge of process controls
Working knowledge of pressure and temperature transmitters
Working knowledge of refined products quality specifications
Working knowledge of rotating equipment (e.g. pumps, valves, motors)
Working knowledge of drive couplings (e.g. direct, belt, and magnetic)
Working knowledge of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
Working knowledge of PHMSA or EPA regulations
