The Financial Analyst, Rodeo Refinery supports local management & corporate cost reporting, analysis, and actionable improvement initiatives for the San Francisco Refinery.
Responsibilities May Include
Compile and lead monthly cost and KPI reviews with local refinery leadership
Analyze Utilities performance for Rodeo & Santa Maria refineries, coordinate utilities forecasts and budgets with energy coordinators
Analyze balance sheet variances on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Support cost and balance sheet analytical activities for Renewable Fuels business
Continue developing and simplifying cost reporting using analytical tools such as Tableau and Alteryx; integrate cost reporting SAP Financial Reporting & Planning module and other global Phillips 66 programmatic improvements
Champion utilization and efficiency improvements for reporting methodology in changing systems, including but not limited to SAP S/4 Financial Reporting & Planning, Hydrocarbon Value Chain, and Asset Management & Procurement Modules
Understand data architecture changes in critical systems and associated reporting implications; act as a thought leader in thoughtful practices for recording and reporting of critical data inputs to equip the organization for automated & insightful reporting

Legally authorized to work in the posting counrty
Required to have, or be able to obtain, a State of California driver license
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
3 or more years of Finance functional experience

Demonstrated knowledge and use of SAP (with preference to S/4), Analysis for Office, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar BI software
5 or more years of FP&A experience
Prior experience in Manufacturing or Industrial settings
A proven track record of continuous improvement and process ownership
Clear communication with the ability to simplify complex concepts to actionable insights
The San Francisco Refinery consists of two facilities linked by a 200-mile pipeline. The Santa Maria facility is located in Arroyo Grande, California, 200 miles south of San Francisco, California, while the Rodeo facility is in the San Francisco Bay Area. Semi-refined liquid products from the Santa Maria facility are shipped by pipeline to the Rodeo facility for upgrading into finished petroleum products. Facilities include crude distillation, naphtha reforming, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units, as well as a calciner. The San Francisco Refinery processes a mixture of heavy, high sulfur and light sweet crude oil. It receives California crude oil by pipeline, and both domestic and foreign crude oil by tanker. The refinery produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. It also produces CARB-grade gasoline. Other products include petroleum coke. The majority of the refined products are distributed to California by pipeline and barge. Additional refined products are also exported to Latin America by waterborne cargo.
