Position details:
Reporting to Manager, Crude Oil Trading, the Crude Oil Trader will work with the Singapore Crude Oil Trading team to identify and capture crude oil trading opportunities to generate profit, both regionally and globally as part of the Global Crude Trading team.
Primary Function/Responsibilities:
Contribute to the Singapore Crude Oil Team in realizing annual profit objectives.
Pro-actively identify, develop and implement trading strategies to capture value from crude oil markets.
Cultivate & enhance targeted counter-party relationships in order to expand Phillips 66 market presence and increase trading potential
Negotiate with counter-party traders to successfully conclude crude oil transactions
Work with traders from Phillips 66 trading offices across the globe to develop and maintain an understanding of Phillips 66 global crude oil trading activities to capture value as part of the global team
Accurately enter crude oil deals into our deal capture system
Work with mid and back-office support teams to ensure accurate reporting of positions.
Education, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher
5+ years of energy industry experience, including at least 3+ years of crude oil trading experience
Experience trading crude oil in the Asia Pacific region, both physical and financial trading (including PG and regional grades)
Entrepreneurial skills. Comfortable trading in a “blank sheet of paper” environment
Knowledge of global crude oil trade flows and understanding of arbitrage economics
Understanding of pricing and volume exposures and tools/strategies for managing risks
Strong negotiating skills
Knowledge of crude oil cargo operations and marine markets
Knowledge of regional crude oil logistics and terminals
Advanced computer spreadsheet skills
Results oriented with ability to think and act decisively and independently under changing circumstances.
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and communicative (speaking and writing) skills and often with persons of another business culture.
