Responsibilities may include :

  • Must be able to do pre and post trip inspections
  • Must be able to do daily inspections on all equipment
  • Must be able to check oil, water and hydraulic fluid
  • Performing daily services on all equipment
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and orderly work facility and job site
  • Willingness to work hard, be self-motivated, dependable and carry out work in a safe manner
  • Willingness to work with others in a team environment
  • Ability to bend, lift 50 lbs, climb and perform a wide range of physical activities
  • Able to use a variety of safety and personal protective equipment, including but not limited to fresh air and slicker suits
  • Must be able to work at high elevations and/or in confined spaces with limited access
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with other team members, leaders and operations personnel
  • Overtime, shift work and weekend work are required at times



  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • Valid in state driver’s license and Class A CDL-DOT
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Some formal training on heavy equipment (bulldozer, grader, backhoe, front end loader and track hoe)
  • 5 year experience on truck driving
  • Good safety record and driving record
  • Obtain basic knowledge of the mechanical operation of equipment
  • Ability to understand and carry out work direction in a safe manner


  • Heavy equipment certifications
  • 15 ton crane experience and NCCO Certification

The Sweeny Refinery is located 65 miles southwest of Houston. This refinery processes mainly heavy, high-sulfur crude oil, as well as light, low-sulfur crude oil.
